Washington, DC, United States (4E) – Over 13,000 hoverboards made by seven totally different producers have been recalled Tuesday because of a defect within the boards’ lithium-ion batteries.

The batteries within the self-balancing boards can overheat posing a danger of the hoverboards smoking, catching hearth or exploding.

Sonic Smartboard, Tech Drift, iLive, iHoverspeed, Go Wheels, Drone Nerds, and Smart Balance Wheelbrand hoverboards have been all affected by the recall.
