Playtex recalls 3.6 million plates and bowls due to chocking hazard

Playtex is recalling 3.6 million childrens’ plates and bowls due to a choking hazard after receiving four reports of children choking on bits of plastic.

North Bergen, NJ, United States (4E) – Playtex is recalling 3.6 million childrens’ plates and bowls due to a choking hazard.

The recall affects all Playtex bowls and plates sold from October 2009 to August 2017; including those sold in the Playtex Mealtime Set.

These dishes come in a variety of designs including, cars, construction scenes, giraffes, princess, superheroes and more.

The Connecticut based company has received 372 reports of the clear plastic layer over the graphics bubbling or peeling as well as 11 reports of pieces of the detached clear plastic found in children’s mouths, including four reports of choking on a piece of the clear plastic layer.

These Playtex products are sold in stores at Babies”R”Us, Target, Walmart, and online through Amazon.

Playtex is offering a full refund for those affected.
